We’ve highlighted below some of the most recent reports in youth-related news and events. In this week's Friday news summary, we speak about financial collapse of ten Mexican universities, One-third of universities in Brazil that are irregular and the number of foreign students in French tertiary institutions.

Although Olomouc has just one university, it deserves a special mention. First of all a little about Olomouc which is in Moravia in the Czech Republic. The people of this city are known to be especially friendly and helpful. During a recent visit I discovered first hand that this reputation is well deserved. And what is one to say about Olomouc itself. Pretty as a picture, the city vibrates with positive energy all round.

Viktor Frešo is a Slovak artist and photographer who knows how to hide a frank smile, if not outright mockery, in his works, and thereby make the viewer start and think. He is surprisingly prolific – every year he has from 15 to 20 exhibitions. The current one is now taking place in the Prague Gallery of Modern Art DOX, where Frešo is again communicating with visitors virtually and raising a number of important issues in a satiric form.

Diamonds have been glorified since modern history. The so called royalty, movie stars and the rich buy diamonds for show and pomp and also as investments. It is said there was a time one could walk along in South Africa and Botswana and kick diamonds as children do stones. So what made these gemstones a commodity to lust for?
